Carolina Espinoza-Sanhueza

Carolina Espinoza Sanhueza is an architect and researcher interested in lighting and colour application in architecture for well-being. She completed a bachelor’s in architecture and a master’s degree in sustainable habitat and energy efficiency at University of Bio-Bio in Chile. Currently, she works in GRAP (Groupe de recherche en ambiances physiques) at the School of Architecture in Laval University, Quebec City. Currently, she is working in her thesis dissertation which studies the photobiological effects of biophilic architectural applications including lighting strategies and interior colour design to entrain vision and circadian cycle in arctic regions. She is also interested in the development of pedagogical tools to predict light and colour photobiological outcomes in architectural education.
Carolina is a 2023 CRSC Student Award winner.
